The Winter months are finally here and I finally feel a little less strained to deal with the weather. That being said, it’s starting to shift uncomfortably in the other direction. This is more or less going to be a quick update as my end-of-year review is coming up and I’m more focused on getting that one done along with my other responsibilities. Along with trying to forget that we as a nation elected an orange-haired self-entitled rich twit………*must avoid talking about politics, must avoid talking about politics*. Suffice it to say, I had very strong disagreements with how this election turned out. Ironically, it’s getting me to become an activist sooner rather than later. So, that’s something. I know some people probably want me to say more but A Paladin avoids political discussions unless its relevant to videogames and this election had little to do with them. As stated before, I’m working on another project for that goal.
A Paladin Without A Crusade:
The month of November wasn’t quite as good for the blog as the previous two months. But I’ve admittedly had some hang ups with reviews and videos not going how I wanted them to. So, things didn’t get published when they should have. Plus Thanksgiving pretty much guarantees I’m going to take the week off. The same will also happen in December but I’ve been working on the posts ahead of time so the blog won’t be content starved as we end the year out. The YouTube channel did pick up though. I’m up to 48 subscribers now!
I’ve pretty much quit recommending games for sales this year and decided to focus my energies on other things. If you want games to buy, I have the curator page that easily let’s you see my tl;dr opinions on each game and point out ones you may have missed. With the recent First Impressions series launching, I feel that both that and my continued reviews will continue to point out the games I hope people will be interested in. Especially since the curator page let’s me “upvote/downvote” games. Doing sales posts largely seems to be a waste of time and energy better spent elsewhere.
Top Five Viewed Posts of The Previous Month:
- A Paladin’s Review of Starward Rogue.
- A Paladin’s Review of Age of Wonders 3.
- A Paladin’s Review of Retrovirus.
- Hi-Rez shuts down Tribes: Ascend development.
- Retrospective of the Age of Wonders 3 Review.
I’m very happy to see that Starward Rogue continues to pull in the numbers as well as Age of Wonders 3. The surprising post is the Hi-Rez one, I don’t know what it’s doing there, that story is months old now. Otherwise, I’m happy with how this month. I’m especially happy with Age of Wonders 3 review and I’m looking forward to my next review this month.
Top 5 YouTube Videos of The Previous Month:
- A Paladin’s Impressions: Rebel Galaxy.
- A Paladin’s Review: Age of Wonders 3.
- A Paladin’s Impressions: SUPERHOT!
- A Paladin’s Impressions: Infested Planet.
- A Paladin’s Impressions: Creeper World 3.
Far and away Rebel Galaxy was the hit last month, much to my surprise. The game is rather old compared to the rest of the titles I covered that month and I wasn’t aware to being that popular. It also had a much higher watch time than the rest of the videos on that list. I’m not sure what to make of these stats right now, but it’s something I’m going to consider going forward.
Other Personal Items:
December is looking to be an awesome month for A Paladin. More streaming, more videos, an awesome review(s) and one heck of an end to the year. Thanks as always for your support!
