A Paladin’s Update: September 2015 In Summary. I’m Calling This The Month of The Updates.

A Paladin Without A Crusade

Let’s do this. Let’s talk about September.

On time and everything too. September really threw off my schedule when I had to go up to Kettle Falls Washington for two weeks. As part of my job, I was a ground support driver assisting with logistics on the wildfire complex up there. Moving people and supplies around to where they needed to be. It was a…different kind of job. It’ll be my last wildfire related job for the year as fire season is quickly dying down.

A Paladin Without A Crusade

Unsurprisingly, views fell this month. Gee, running an unusual schedule with giant gaps caused that. Totally didn’t see that one coming. Still, it wasn’t too bad a dip which I’m surprised about. A lot of the work that I have been able to do this month has been focused on finishing up my review update project. I’m about 90% complete on that too, nearly a year after I started. I’m sure a few people are getting a bit sick of it and would prefer to see me doing new reviews. Trust me, you’re not as tired of doing it as I am. It was a much longer process than I had expected when I first started it. I’m glad to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m doing a final final update to all standing reviews to add the bullet lists, fix links and other miscellaneous work. That should be finished about the same time I finish updating the remaining reviews.

Additionally, I’m hoping to start working on getting videos out again for the System Shock 2 series. I know I’ve been completely off the ball on that series.

Reviews Published This Month and Listed Based On Popularity:

Yea, only two reviews this month and both were updates. Ouch. Taking two weeks off and then another weekend off didn’t help me. I’ve already talked about what reviews are coming down the pipeline so I won’t repeat myself here. Nothing has changed.

Top five posts from the past month::

  1. A Paladin’s Review: Huniepop. The Review That Will Doom My Credibility Forever.
  2. A Paladin’s Musing: Buy The Witcher 3 on GOG or Steam?
  3. A Paladin’s Update: I’ve Got A Question for You.
  4. A Paladin’s Updated Steam Review: Overlord & Overlord: Raising Hell. Frustrating Gameplay & Conflicted Themes Doesn’t Make One Evil.
  5. A Paladin’s Update: August 2015 in Summary. New Monitor and Status of Upcoming Reviews including Witcher 3 and Age of Wonders 3.

Nothing too surprising here except for Huniepop dominating the top of the charts for the third time in a row. Apparently I should review more games in this genre. I sure get a lot of attention for it.

Other Personal Items:

This month has been tricky to deal with when the uncertain schedule. I’ve got a lot of other things going on behind the scenes including job-related stuff but nothing solid that I can talk about just yet. I know this update is a bit light on stuff but I was gone for a couple of weeks and that generally doesn’t give me much to talk about. I’m mostly just glad to be back and working on the blog this week. I’ve put in three days of solid effort to make up for my time away which has made me pretty happy. But I’ll have to start splitting time between the blog, YT channel, finding a job, working my current contract job, etc and so forth pretty soon. Such is life.

Thanks for reading and supporting as always. Its appreciated.
