A Paladin’s Recommendations: Steam Winter Sale 2013 Day 3…

Apologies for the delay today, I was out of town this morning and couldn’t get to this post until now. Day three is here and I’m still hoping that  just writing these recommendations will get rid of the temptation to buy anything and everything on the store. It’s better than doing nothing >_<. This series is about recommending or cautioning you about games on the Steam Daily Sale as well as any interesting GOG sales that might catch my eyes. I won’t bother with flash sales as those come and go too quickly. Don’t forget that yesterday’s deals are still in effect for another 24 hours so check out my previous post for information on those. So let’s get onto day two of this year’s sale.

  1. Sleeping Dogs: An excellent Open World GTA-esque game that I don’t feel gets nearly enough kudos for what it is. It puts you in Hong Kong and let’s you play around in a very well developed world with a very intriguing storyline. If you are looking for a beautiful open world game where you can do whatever you want and customize your gameplay, Sleeping Dogs does it well.
  2. The Wolf Among Us: A game I still want to get and has been getting some good reviews. Telltale has clearly found their niche in gaming and I’m looking forward to playing it in 2014.
  3. Skyward Collapse: A game about balancing the power between two factions that you cannot control, but you can help or sabotage in order to keep them in line. It’s crazy and insane to balance those two factions but I have found it immensely fun. At 66% off of, you really should be playing this game.

Warning and Caution on these Games:

  1. Age of Empires II HD Edition: This remake is pretty good for the old game and finally brings the old game up to modern PC standards BUT, the graphics and animations still look aged and I still feel like the HD remake wasn’t enough.
  2. Ace of Spades: This game was launched in a questionable state and severely lacking in balance for an online shooter. That may no longer be the case but do not be distracted by the Minecraft visuals and hoping it’ll be great. Do. Research.
  3. Starforge: An early access game so you’ll want to be wary of it. Wait for it’s release or do your research before getting it.

Hope you enjoyed this post, more recommendations coming tomorrow!

Have a Merry Christmas!
