A Paladin’s Job: Contract Complete. Job Finished. I’m a Little Surprised about it…

Bwhahahaha! That expression Jahna has in this photo is hilarious! I was just taking a ton of photos while Jahna was playing with her toy tire there. I never expected to see that in my collection of shots.

Yeah. I finished that 4-6 week contract job in less than a week. Tonight. I even came home early. Yes, I’m quite certain that I did everything I needed to do for this job as I checked with the super. I’m just as surprised as you are. What was supposed to be a month long deal ended rather abruptly to me. Don’t get me wrong, I put in a lot of hard work to get it done. I’m satisfied with the job I did. I did it quickly but thoroughly. I just kind of expected it to go longer than that. And there’s a part of me telling me I should have dragged it out but no, I couldn’t have. I refuse to do that. My father told me to do a job as well as you can, as quickly as you can. That’s how I work when I’m on the job and I think it’ll work out. As far as self-evalutions go, I’m really impressed with my multitasking and endurance I had on this job. But, I’m worried about the finance side. The paycheck isn’t likely going to give me the boost I was hoping for. A boost that I had hoped to help pay for college loans. Instead, it’ll just keep me afloat a little longer. I guess that’s better than nothing but still. I can’t help but worry about it.

But I’m not all down about it. The upside is that I’ve got a job completed and under my belt. I can start pushing TLW Tech Services to the Portland area ahead of schedule. Yes, that is the new name for Tim’s Computer Services. I’m hoping to have a new logo reflect the name change later this week. And I can work on other projects while I try and decide what I’m going to do next. I’ll adapt my schedule to this sudden change. Daniel and I have already set another date for a TeknoCratik podcast recording in addition to an interview that’s been in the planning stage for a while. So I’m hoping we can get TeknoCratik back at full steam. Just in time for Christmas hehe.

Tonight, I’m just resting after 24 hours of driving and working non-stop. I’m also going through emails and taking care of paperwork. Back to the regular schedule tomorrow as I try to not freak out about finances ;). Oh that’s right! The interview for another potential job went very well today. I have some hopes for it but I’m remaining cautious. After all, the last interview I had I thought I did really well and got rejected. But the other upside to it is that I got to visit with a few former roommates at the Christus House while I was there. Even if it was brief, it was good to see them again. More tomorrow, I’m tired and need some sleep. Driving four+ hours and working 13 all in one shot is draining.
