My Life Musings…

I spent this weekend with my Mom and brothers as they had come up with Jahna, Mom’s new puppy, to visit. I took pictures, we talked and just did whatever. Plus, we watched Skyfall and Turner & Hooch. I haven’t seen Turner and Hooch in a long time and that movie was really good. Jahna was an overly excitable puppy most of the time. That was one ball of energy that just wouldn’t stop. She is overly affectionate too. Which is fine. At least, it would be if she didn’t like chewing on your ears and fingers at the same time. Oh boy, that’s going to be a pain to train her out of that. (Good thing I don’t have to do it! hahahahaha ;)) But she is really cute and I think she’ll be a good dog in the long run. It will just take training. Otherwise, a good weekend and a good day today. I feel a bit battered still but I’m starting to get things working again. Let’s hope I can keep this going until the end of this term. I’ve been very productive and getting things done. Which is always a good day in my book. I hope your weekend was good!

I’m changing the blog schedule again for the 100th time now. One of these days I’ll have it finalized. But here we go, again. So basically, I’m moving the release schedule ahead four hours from 12am to 8pm and releasing on Monday/Wednesday/Friday now. I’ve been noticing that when I do them late as I have been lately, I’m getting more tired than usual. This is causing me to force myself to get these posts done. That will likely cause the quality of posts to go down so I’m trying to ward that off by doing them earlier. This is also to bring some sanity back to my busy life right now, with finals quickly approaching. I’m also hoping to do weekly “big” posts but I’m not making any promises. I’m changing the process of how I write them which will hopefully make it easier to craft these posts during my school schedule. If it doesn’t, oh well. I’ll try something else. Taking off the Saturday Personal Musing will allow me to work on my YouTube channel projects on Saturday. At least, this is all of what I’m hoping to do. We’ll see how well my plan melds/clashes with my school studying. Now that I’ve managed to patch my life back together, I’m feeling more confident things in general.

I uploaded the third episode of Cthulhu Saves the World tonight. Come watch me fail at voicing little kids and battling dolls. It took four takes to get this episode done due to people interfering in real life so that’s always fun. Still, I think it turned out pretty well. This gaming stuff isn’t easy you know…

Tech and Gaming News To Talk About…

Since I’ve been overly negative for the past couple of posts in this section, I’m going to be positive tonight. We could all use a little bit more happy news anyway.

Arcen Games has released A Valley Without Wind 2 tonight onto Steam and other stores. And what a promising looking game it is this time around. I stayed out of the BETA process of this game unlike the past two Arcen title games for a couple of reasons. I also wanted to tackle this game fresh without getting “Beta-exhaustion” like I had with the previous two games of theirs. I was also way too busy with school and other priorities to be able to tackle the game properly for testing anyway. I did keep an eye on the development process though so I’m looking forward to playing this game along with the original one when I get to it in my queue. So, if your looking for a unique platformer with a strategy element as well with plenty of replayability and content, this is definitely the game to check out. It has platforming and turn-based strategy coupled together, enhanced tactile combat, better visuals and a better focus on story as well. Arcen also hired an art studio to help with the animations and look of the game this time around. So go, go check it out. You can try the demo is nothing else to see if its your cup of tea.

Tribes: Ascend has provided a single purchase option for its players just recently. For a free-to-play game, that is a rather significant option. This purchase will get you all the weapons, items and classes all in one go for a relatively cheap price of $29.99. I think its a great option to give players in F2P games so we don’t feel nickled and dimed to death. But for me, I don’t think its enough. I left the game due to feeling dimed to death as well as the feeling that Hi-Rez was ignoring major balancing issues as well as focusing all of its time and energy on its other games it was developing. I still have to give them kudos for doing this but…it feels like too little too late. I was glad to see that the game hadn’t rolled over and died since I left though. So here’s hoping this will give the game fresh blood and maybe Hi-Rez will give it more attention to the point that I’ll have to come back and see all of what has changed. We can be hopeful!

Photos To See…

Here are some of the highlights of all of the photos I took of Jahna over the weekend.

A good shot of the sky.

Someone’s kitty is rather tired.

Jadeo.

Audio of Note…

I’ve actually seen the Fullmetal Alchemist anime series recently. It was pretty good too, some rather deep themes.

Another good chiptune song shared in my feed this week. I’m getting some good shares.

This song has some good dance tunes to it. =)

Cool Videos To Watch…

Here is some cute kitties taking out the bad guys in this dubstep video. It is ridiculously adorable and you should give it a watch…

LGR’s SimCity Series Retrospective was a really fun video to watch. It brought back a lot of memories of my playtime in SimCity original and SimCity 2000. I never did get around to 3000 or 4, but I hope to someday…

My friend MoonshineFox is starting a new series on the original Mass Effect game. I’m looking forward to his take on it. Despite my…conflicted…feelings for Mass Effect 3, I still think fondly on the time I had with 1 & 2. So give his series a look…

And I hope you enjoyed this Personal Musing. I feel a lot better about this earlier publishing time and I hope the quality of the post is reflected in that. Until next time!…
