About The Voxel Agents and a Minor Update

Hey readers,

It’s me, with my random and probably late update. *shrugs*. On with the blog post!

So The Voxel Agents, the indie company I had blogged about before and even wrote up a review for their game has released a very nice update for their first game, “Train Conductor”. (To refresh your memory, its a track-switching “time-management” game for iPhone) And while I haven’t had a chance to play with it, darn school, I found the patch notes very cool. First off, they went and updated the graphics for the iPhone 4’s Retina display. Great news but even better, they updated the game to the iPad’s 9.7″ screen and UI. Wow! They even went in and scrubbed the graphics to be squeaky clean and even some of the levels got a “HD Update”. For the Voxel Agents to do this as a free update is a massive win in my books. Most companies would force this upgrade to be paid for in some kind of way. Whether it would be an in-app-purchase or an entirely separate game specifically for the iPad. This is why I love indie-companies, they give so much and ask for so little that it makes me feel slightly guilty :(. While the lack of new content is a tiny disappointment, I’ll take a visual upgrade any day if its free :). I for one see some hours sunk into this update on my iPad, even if I’ve already “completed” the game on my iPhone. Link to the original is here: http://bit.ly/8NHRr3

If your wondering where the review I had up for this game is, I took it down about a month ago to update it to a better “standard”. (I have standards? ;)) I didn’t like how it ultimately turned out so I’ll be reposting it later on and it should be better than ever. Less words and more pics, etc. šŸ˜› Actually, it was the sequel, USA that I had reviewed, but both it and this original game will be posted eventually.

So what about me? Well, Spring term has started back up and is in full force. So much fun. It is four classes this time instead of three. Its also three paper/projects instead of one. Exciting. Fortunately, I’m starting earlier this term so hopefully my procrastination does not bite me too hard. I’m still working on a few ideas and trying to decide the next step. Its not easy, but I’ll manage somehow.

I hope you all have an excellent week/month of April. Keep going!
